New Remedial Massage Therapist
We are excited to introduce, Tegan, our new Remedial Massage Therapist. Tegan holds a diploma in Remedial Massage and has been running her own massage business in Flinders for the past 2 years. She will be available in rooms on Mondays and will be a brilliant adjunct in the treatment and ongoing management of joint and muscle injuries as well helping in injury prevention.

NDIS Update from Raquel Poyser
Over the past twelve months, South Coast Physiotherapy have continued to provide Physiotherapy Services for our valued NDIS clients who now total just under 100. These services range from providing hands on therapy to advice regarding assistive technology eg, wheelchairs, Ebikes and trikes, blue tooth operated hi lo beds to supporting participants with on land or in pool exercise programs to training for support workers. Our Physiotherapists work and provide services for our NDIS clients in a variety of settings depending on what suits our clients and their situation best. These places of work may include our clinic rooms in Tootgarook, in a participant’s own home, supported accommodations, Adult Day Programs and in the community eg. YAWA, PARC. South Coast Physiotherapy clinicians travel far and wide to assist our NDIS clients including Rye, Hastings, Cranbourne and Carrum and locations in between. Sometimes our Physiotherapists are required to travel further up the train line to places like Mentone if we are meeting with a client at a provider to review and make modifications to their wheelchair. Our therapists regularly work closely with large therapy and support teams supporting our NDIS clients to optimise their functional outcomes and assist them to work towards their NDIS goals. At South Coast Physiotherapy we take pride in our work helping improve the lives of people living with a disability and striving to improve the services we offer our valued NDIS clients. Non-Surgical Management of Achilles Ruptures - presenting at the AOFAS conference in Cairns
Our joint and director, James Gasper, has recently returned from presenting on non-surgical management of Achilles Ruptures to the Australian Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) in sunny Cairns. With the advancements in non surgical management over the last 10 years it is becoming the preferred choice in treating these injuries for the general population with good long term outcomes.

Welcome Brigitte
Brigitte has been working here at South Coast Physiotherapy since the end of last year. It has been great having her join the team of which she has already become an integral part. Brigitte has brought with her a wealth of experience and knowledge. She is a highly qualified physiotherapist with both post graduate and masters qualifications as well as over 40 years experience. Brigitte is available for appointments on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Lockdown 4
With the recent Victorian state lockdown we will only be seeing face to face patients that we deem essential. We apologise for any inconvenience and we will ensure any patients that have had their appointments cancelled are seen at the earliest opportunity post lockdown. Telehealth consults are still available through this time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Happy New Year
We would like to wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year. Unfortunately we have had to reinstate our mandatory mask wearing protocol in line with the increased restrictions following the recent positive COVID cases in the State. Otherwise the clinic will be open and running as normal. We will endeavour to pass on information regarding any changes to the running of the clinic through our social media outlines as promptly as possible. Massage is Back
With the easing of restrictions we are delighted to have Bryony Exner back offering a Remedial Massage service. At present Bryony will only be available 1 day a week so please either book your appointment on line or contact reception to ensure you do not miss out. Although restrictions have eased we still have our COVID plan in place which includes a limited capacity in our reception area, compulsory masks and cleaning between clients. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
